What is the Eco‑4 Scheme?

Eco‑4 is the latest phase of the UK Government’s Energy Company Obligation—a grant program running from July 27, 2022, to March 31, 2026. It helps households with energy 

 

Who Can Benefit?

  • Homeowners, private tenants or landlords heating with electricity (including storage heaters), and between EPC bands D and G

  • Those on income‑based benefits—e.g. Child Benefit, Universal Credit, ESA, JSA, Working Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit—are highly likely to qualify

  • Low-income households not on benefits may still qualify via Local Authority Flex (LA Flex)

  • What’s Covered?
  • Eco‑4 supports a whole‑house retrofit, not just piecemeal fixes  Eligible upgrades include:

  • Loft, cavity, internal, external & solid wall insulation

  • Flat and pitched roof or underfloor insulation

  • Boiler upgrades and repairs

  • Air source heat pumps & renewable heating systems

  • Electric storage heater replacements

  • Smart heating controls (stat thermostats, radiator valves)

  • Solar PV and battery storage
